Just a Pic of My Girl!

She has soooo gone past the "I hate my picture being taken" phase, to the "Mommy, will you take my picture!?" phase! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And of course, Jake has gone the complete opposite and runs whenever I pull out the camera... but at least, I always have one to work with! :)

Sky Blue Seamless Paper

Here's some pics of the kids with the new blue background I just got. I've got lots of ideas to work with this!... mainly with boys, but I think little girls would look really cute on it too! (I have a pink one coming too!!).

This is the closest thing I can come to a good shot of the two of them together.... ugh.
(They were dancing if you're wondering!)

My Wedding Ring!!

For those of you who didn't know... I lost my wedding ring last night!

And not just MY wedding ring... my Nana's, Aunt Lizzy's wedding ring from 1921!!! That's right, my almost 90 year old ring slipped off my finger somewhere between the truck and my dad's house last night. I was so upset... we couldn't find it anywhere and wasn't sure 100% when or where it fell off (and the snow didn't help).

But YEY FOR MY DADDY!!! He went out this morning and this afternoon and because of all the rain today, he found my ring in the grass!!! THANK GOD!!!

Before my Nana passed away, she literally took it off her own finger and gave it to me, which I in turn gave to Ted to use for my wedding ring at our wedding a few months later. That ring means so much to me for so many reasons, I would have been devastated if it was gone. It's just a very simple pink gold band but the sentimental meaning behind it is priceless.

Now the decision... do I get it sized? Because I have lost 11 lbs this month, I guess my rings are getting too big and I need to either weld them together or get them sized. Any suggestions?

My Brush with "Death"!!! LOL

So just to clarify why I was so pensive and thoughtful on my way to the airport, I thought I'd share with you my brush with death!! (LOL... not really, but I like to make things exciting!!).

I was driving down hwy 99 talking to Ted on the phone (he was sitting on the plane in Winnipeg waiting to take off). I hung up with him and heard this crazy humming noise. Looked out the rear view mirror... nothing. I noticed I was losing speed. Ok... better pull over and find out what the heck is going on...

As soon as I braked to slow down, the truck just went out of control veering all over the road!!! Thank god there were no cars around me because I FOR SURELY would have hit one or two. I finally got the car pulled over to the side of the road. Got out of the truck, walked around the side, and saw this:

Pardon the quality... they were taken on my camera phone!

I couldn't believe it!!!! Just crazy!! Anyways, I was stuck on the side of the road for about 45 minutes and then my hero father in law came to rescue me!! (THANK YOU PAUL AND HELEN!!). Funny enough, my friend Tim drove past and called me to make sure I was ok. He then called again from home (5 min away) and we asked him to come help out as my FIL was having some trouble. We then got a phone call from poor Tim that he was on the 99 on his way to us but was stuck in traffic as they had closed the hwy due to a semi truck accident!!!!

UGH! Poor Tim... stuck in traffic just trying to come help! THANKS TIM!!!!

Anyways, all is good! Got to the airport to pick up Ted in time and no one was hurt! YEY!

Everything happens for a reason! The accident happened minutes after I past by that spot... could have been in it! My Dad called shortly before I was leaving for the airport and asked if he could watch the kids while I went... so I decided to leave them.... they would have been in the truck and on the side of the road with me! Things could have been so much worse!

Crazy!!!

He's Home!!

My Teddy's home!!!! He was in Ottawa on training for TWO WEEKS and it was the longest two weeks of MY LIFE! We've never been apart that long (no more than three days) and I was lost without him! It's true... absence makes the heart grow fonder... or maybe it just makes the heart remember what it forgets when life gets in the way. So on my way to pick him up from the airport, I heard this song and it is just so fitting for how I feel about him... I feel like the lyrics were written for me to sing to him... here they are:

If I only had two words left to say to you.
With my last breath I'd come face the truth to you.
You've never left my side, even when I fell behind.

Thank-you, thank-you for the life you've given me.
Thank-you for sharing all your love and all your dreams.
Thank-you for every tear of happiness I've cried.
Thank-you for laying down beside me here tonight.

When I close my eyes, I say a prayer for one more day with you.
And when I wake, I embrace the one who pulls me through.
Who pulls me through the storm when I can't go on.

Thank-you, thank-you for the life you've given me.
Thank-you for sharing all your love and all your dreams.
Thank-you, for every tear of happiness I've cried.
Thank-you for laying down beside me here tonight.

You've never let me down.
Its like you don't know how.
Thank-you, thank-you for the life you've given me.
Thank-you, for sharing all your love and all your dreams.
Thank-you. Thank-you.

Thank You by Johnny Reid

I just love it... if you haven't heard it, download it! It's beautiful!! Love you baby!! I'm so glad you're home!!

This Song!!!

I guess I was all sensitive on my way to the airport (or stuck in some serious traffic and bored out of my mind!!) and I heard this song. It's called Letter to Me by Brad Paisely and WOW... I wish this song came out when I was 17 (though I probably wouldn't have listened anyways!).Obviously it's more affective if you've heard the song but the lyrics are so true. 17 was a CRAZY year for me and I swear this song was written about my life. So this is the song... slightly adapted for ME by ME!!! ;)

If I could write a letter to me and send it back in time to myself at 17...
First I'd prove it's me by saying look under your bed
There's a diary and chocolate no one else would know you hid
And then I'd say I know it's tough when you break up after seven months
And yeah, I know you really liked him, and it just don't seem fair
All I can say is pain like that is fast, and it's rare!

And oh, you got so much going for you, going right
But I know at 17, it's hard to see past Friday night
He wasn't right for you And still you feel like there's a knife
sticking out of your back And you're wondering if you'll survive
You'll make it through this and you'll see
You're still around to write this letter to me.

At the stop sign at 232nd and Glover
Always stop completely Don't just tap your brakes
Each and every time you have a fight
Just assume you're wrong and dad is right
And you should really thank Mrs. Bryson
She spent so much extra time
It's like *she sees* the diamond underneath
And she's polishing you 'til you shine.

And oh, you got so much going for you, going right
But I know at 17 it's hard to see past Friday night
Tonight's the bonfire rally but you're staying home instead
Because if you fail Math 11, you know dad will kill you dead
Trust me you'll squeak by and get a C
And you're still around to write this letter to me.

You've got so much *up* ahead
You'll make new friends,
you should see your husband and kids

And I'd end by saying have no fear
These are nowhere near the best years of your life.

I guess I'll see you in the mirror
When you're a grown woman
P.S. go hug your Nana every chance you can.

And oh, you got so much going for you, going right
But I know at 17, it's hard to see past Friday night
I wish you'd study Spanish I wish you'd finish your degree
I wish you wouldn't worry, let it be
I'd say have a little faith, and you'll see.
If I could write a letter to me, to me...
